Zetnet Services - Using FTP

Once your request for your free web space has been processed you will be sent the following information:
  1. Your URL: This is the address of your site and will take the form of:
    www.users.zetnet.co.uk/mydirectory/
Where "mydirectory" is your personalised directory name.

  2. Your Login: This is your FTP login Identity and will often be the same as your directory name.

  3. Your Password: This is your access password which is generated by the system, keep it safe.

To FTP your pages you need to connect to www.users.zetnet.co.uk (The FTP Host). Note that there is not a leading "ftp." or "ftp://", as this is not required (except in Netscape Gold).

When logged on you will be able to place your files in the "www" directory. Other directories you may see are "bin" and "etc" these are not accessible and should be left alone.
In your "www" directory you will find a file named "index.html", this is the html file which produces the "This Site Under Construction" page displayed at your URL. This file can be removed or replaced with your home page, remember that it is advisable to always have a file "index.htm" or "index.html" in your directory.
