N-BASE Briefings -
nuclear news and analysis

Regular reports

N-BASE Briefings are the only regular publication examining the Scottish and UK civil nuclear industry. The N-BASE Briefings provide accurate up-to-date information on the civil nuclear industry, in particular the reprocessing industry at Dounreay and Sellafield, nuclear waste management, nuclear transports, radioactive marine pollution and associated issues including inter-governmental marine pollution conventions, especially concerning the North Sea and North Atlantic.

The Briefings concentrate on the UK but include information from Scandinavia, Europe and further afield, especially if there is a link to the UK. The Briefings also include the latest records in the N-BASE Database. N-BASE does not cover nuclear weapons issues except where there is a link to its main topics - such as transport or submarine decommissioning, for example. Some non-nuclear issues are covered again where there is a link back to the main topics - such as research into cancer and other health issues.

Subscription only

N-BASE Briefings are published 10 times a year by NENIG - the Northern European Nuclear Information Group - which is based in the Shetland Islands of Scotland - and are ONLY available by subscription. Our subscribers include the Icelandic and Norwegian Governments, the Iceland Parliament, Faroese Parliament, MPs and MEPs, media representatives, environmental organisations, political parties and concerned individuals from the UK, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, USA, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands and Sweden.

A full text sample copy of the April 1996 Briefing is available on the N-BASE Home Pages. Our finances mean we need subscriptions and unfortunately cannot put all our up-to-date information on-line. To reduce file size the N-BASE Briefing has been split in two - the Dounreay news section and other nuclear news - the Briefings also include the latest entries into the database.
