Outbreaks of rain overnight. Low stratus lifting and breaking during the morning to give a sunny afternoon. Cloudy evening. Dry day, partly cloudy. Rain during the afternoon, patchy drizzle early evening then dry but cloudy. Cloudy morning with outbreaks of rain, becoming dry and partly cloudy during the afternoon. Cloudy with high, thin SC during the morning - the cloud edge moving south to become partly cloudy for the afternoon before clouding over again by evening. Good visibility improving to 60 km during the afternoon and evening. Well broken cloud for much of the day. TCU with AC Cugen to NNE late morning. Orographic CU forming over Fair Isle early afternoon. CI/CS mid afternoon, with partial halo, thickening to AS/AC by evening. Intermittent light rain by midnight. Rain, moderate at times overnight, turning to drizzle after 0700 UTC. Visibility falling rapidly in low stratus early hours with thick fog by 0500 UTC. Becoming dry during the morning, the fog thinning and clearing to mist 1220 UTC as stratus lifts. Fog returning after 1700 UTC as stratus base again falls, clearing to mist 1905 as stratus again lifts. Visibility improving to 20 km by midnight with stratus cloud at 400 ft and 1200 ft. A fine, clear night. a/c northbound to Scatsta at 0645 UTC reports a "big sheet of fog out to the east" at 0645 UTC. Fog quickly rolling in from the east at 0925 UTC, visibility falling to 150m with sky obscured. Fog thinning 1500 and clearing to mist at 1630 UTC until 1910 UTC when the fog returned - with thick fog by 2015 UTC. Fog, thick at times, for much of the period. Thinning to fog patches at times 1030 - 1530 UTC. A fine, warm sunny day with visibility improving very good (60 km). 2350 UTC Very faint NOCTILUCENT CLOUD overhead. About 2 oktas cirrus-like, creamy white in colour. Looked like sunlit cirrus, but the cirrus present was all in deep shadow. A fine, clear night. Low stratus increasing after 0610 UTC, then lifting during the morning to give a mainly cloudy day. Stratus increasing again during the evening with mist and fog from 2315 UTC. Overcast morning with drizzle at times and low stratus. Early fog soon thinning to mist. Further fog from 0854, soon becoming thick. Sky obscured all afternoon but the sun disc occasionally visible. Fog thinning 1725 UTC with some outbreaks of rain, moderate at times. Visibility improving to 25 km late evening with cloud beginning to break. 225 UTC wind veer 160° to 260° by 2240 UTC with gust to 21 kt. Outbreaks of mainly light rain overnight. Cloudy with good visibility, becoming misty after 0600 UTC with the increase of low stratus - leading to some fog patches and fog 0632 - 0640 UTC. Drizzle during the morning turning showery late morning/early afternoon, the cloud then breaking to give a sunny end to the afternoon. Showers becoming frequent 1830 - 1930 UTC. Evening ending fine and dry. Some light showers overnight then a dry, partly cloudy day with showers visible in the vicinity for much of the time. Some mainly light, intermittent rain overnight, followed by a sunny morning. SC increasing from the SW late morning with some showers late afternoon. Marked drop in RH from 86% at 1155 UTC to 73% at 1255 UTC followed by increase to 90% late afternoon with ST increasing and lowering to give fog by 1935 UTC, but improving to 20 km by midnight. Extensive low stratus, but good visibility (20 km - 30 km) during the morning. Period rain followed by rain and drizzle late morning early afternoon. Sunny end to the afternoon as the SE'ly wind veered to a gusty (35 kt at 1837 UTC) WSW'ly with much drier air (DP falling from 11° to 13° during the afternoon to 7.6° Celsius during the evening). Partly cloudy, light showers overnight and during the morning. Afternoon dry. Cloud increasing overnight, with drizzle and low stratus from 0630 UTC. Visibility falling with fog from 0700 UTC, with sky obscured, becoming thick from 0800 UTC. Drizzle ceased 1030 UTC, visibility improving to 1800 m for a time 1230 - 1430 UTC as ST base lifted slightly. Fog then becoming dense with visibility falling to 80 m at times. Visibility improving to 1500 m during the evening with some intermittent light rain later. Some light overnight rain with fog by 0600 UTC. Some light drizzle during the morning, with fog for much of the time. Foggy all afternoon, thick with sky obscured and visibility down to 80 m at times until 1500 UTC. Visibility improving to 2000 m for a time during the evening, but falling to 250 m in fog and drizzle by midnight. Fog, drizzle or rain and drizzle for much of the day. Becoming dry and clear during the evening as the F3 W'ly wind veered NW'ly and increased F5-6, the visibility improving to 15 km by midnight. A cool day with scattered showers during the morning and a F5-6 NW'ly wind, slowly moderating by evening. Moderate or heavy rain overnight. Stratus becoming extensive, visibility falling with fog from 0730 UTC. Precipitation turning to moderate drizzle during the morning, and light intermittent drizzle for the afternoon. A dry, cloudy day with stratus and good visibility. Stratus breaking for a time from the southwest during the evening. A dry, cloudy day with early stratus lifting to SC. Visibility good at first, but becoming misty later in the afternoon. Fog from 0015 UTC, soon becoming dense, with visibility 100 m by 0500 UTC. Sky obscured all day although visibility improving to 400 m for a time during the afternoon otherwise visibility <200 m for much of the time. |
